On December 13-15 the NSLI-Y students traveled to Tainan City for their monthly cultural trip that included a visit to Kuen Shan Senior High school. On Friday, the students participated in Kuen Shan’s sports day. After class was over, the students went to individual host families for the evening. Saturday morning we gathered at a local Elementary School, where we participated in relay races. In the afternoon, Kuen Shan students acted as our local tour guides, taking the NSLI-Y students to various historical sites throughout the city. Some highlights include visiting the Dutch Fort Provintia (1653), Dutch Fort Zeelandia (1634), Eternal Golden Castle (1874), Mazu Temple (1662), and Confucian Temple (1665). For the remainder of the weekend, the students visited night markets, went to KTV, and tried Tainan’s many delicacies.
